A New Dawn
Welcome friends! Thank you for being here in this new space. My website will be the central point for learning about all of the content I will be working on over the next several decades. Yes, you read that right. I have more than enough material screaming to get out that will keep me busy for at least the next twenty-five years, if not longer. I’ve been sidelined (mostly by my own hand) for too long. It’s now the time to actualize. I’ll be occupying three distinct lanes of art. Acting, writing, and music. I have multiple goals within each domain but after spending a significant amount of time on this planet thus far, I’ve learned some stuff the hard way and can take those lessons to heart. What that means is I have greater awareness of my strengths and weaknesses. So what works for me, what doesn’t work for me, along with how to tackle my goals with greater efficiency. What I’m striving to accomplish is one item at a time, piece by piece. No jumping around nor trying to handle everything at once. This doesn’t mean I’ll be rigid and inflexible when circumstances shift or projects enter different stages, rather it means I will honor one of my core values (balance) to keep me focused while reaming consistent on completing projects. I may have enough material to fill the days but that doesn’t mean the runway is expanding. That twenty-fives years is a blip. I got a lot of cooking to do!
So here’s what’s currently popping in the three domains listed in order of priority.
Acting - With the new site in place, there are a few branding items that will get finalized and uploaded. Then I can begin constructing a new team. Moreover, I’ll be spending a few hours each day training my audition technique to Olympic-level. I’ve been out of the scene for a hot minute and the rust needs to get knocked off. Audition technique requires a slightly different form of execution compared to scene acting. It’s imperative that it is honed to a razor’s edge in order to maximize the window of opportunities in casting offices. This will be the bread and butter of my career in the short-term. I need to make a living from this so that’s why it’s at the top.
Writing - I’m working through Corey Mandell’s Professional Writing Training at the moment. In combination with other bits and pieces of tools I’ve collected over the years, I’m finishing my James Bond Spec Screenplay. Already over 100 pages I’m confident it can be cleaned up into a solid 1st draft by the end of Q1. After the 1st draft I’ll secure some coverage notes to help facilitate the rewrite. While that is happening I will be focused on the first book in my novel series. With a target of having the 1st draft completed by the end of Q2, I can shift it into the first round of editing/rewrites in Q3. I see this work being the largest contributor to my career long-term with hopefully a sizable bump in the mid-term.
Music - More than likely, the first musical composing will take place in Q4 since most of my attention will be focused on writing the spec screenplay and novel in 2026. I will probably spend a few hours each week re-training on the guitar while supplementing in some piano playing. My music theory knowledge is grossly limited and it would be awesome to incorporate that buildout into the re-training. Music is the dark horse. I don’t know exactly how it will drive my career in any period but I have this sneaky feeling it’s going to surprise me.
As for this Blog, in the short-term it will function as a news feed. While the long-term vision is to leverage it into a repository of short stories or more. Either way, there’s going to be something very cool coming out of it down the road. I’m very excited to see what happens. I hope it will excited you as well! Until next time…
Love and light.
